St. Canute, King Martyr

sotd thumbnailSt. Canute (died 1086), King of Denmark, by his zeal for the Faith made enemies who put him to death in the Church of St. Alban.  Pope Benedict XV adorned his altar in the Church of St. Mary in Trastevere (Rome) with artistic candelabra.
